THE ROYAL PRIESTHOOD
There is a common idea, which is unbiblical. That is there is
a distinction between the clergy and the laity. In 1peter2vs9, the Apostle says
that all Christian are …A royal priesthood… which means all clergy are laymen
and all laymen are clergy. We are all part of the royal priesthood of God.
1. This should
not surprise us because several passages in the bible said that God’s people
are to be named the priest of the lord and ministers of our God. Some of such
passages are Exo 61vs6, Rev 1vs 6, 5vs10 and Rev 20vs6.

a. Praise :
praise is the first and the most special sacrifice that is mostly acceptable by
God . The bible made us know that God don’t send angels to accept praise he
rises up to receive our praises . psalm9:11, psalm67:3, heb13vs15, rev19:5.
b. Singing: singing
is another special sacrifice, it is mostly use as a means of praising God.
Psalm81:1, Ephesians 5:19, rev 5:9,rev5:19.
c. Rejoicing:
psalm107:22, philipians4:4,isaiah12:6.
d. Glorifying:
Rev 5:12, rev7:12,luke2:20.
e. Thanksgiving:
psalm100:4,col 3:15,Thessalonians 5:18.
f.
Listening: you might be surprise, to see listening.
Obeying God commandment, listening to
the instruction he give us is also an act of sacrificing your physical comfort
to please God.Ecclesiastes 5:1,Isaiah 55:3, john 5:25.
g. Doing: put
into practice the instruction God give to us is also a sacrifice unto the lord.matt5:16, 1cor10:31, heb13:16.
Thus we see that praise and
thanksgiving are offering but we must remember as worth priest to God there is
a great temptation just to praise God in song without offering one’s self,
money, and one’s time.
